A Guide to Morden's Natural Escapes 🌿

Set amid the gently rolling hills of southern Manitoba's Pembina Triangle, Morden is a city of surprising natural richness. World-class marine fossils lie hidden beneath the surrounding prairie, a deep river valley carves dramatic scenery nearby, and diverse wetlands and parks make this one of Manitoba's most naturally fascinating communities to explore.

Morden is home to the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre — one of Canada's foremost palaeontology museums — and the fossil-rich badlands surrounding the city. The prairie hills around Morden conceal the remains of the ancient Western Interior Seaway, and guided fossil walks lead visitors through the landscape to search for the bones of mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, and ancient fish in their natural setting.
